Bald By Choice, Not Genetics

Bald By Choice, Not Genetics

A lot of men (and women) have embraced the bald look during the pandemic in the absence of salons and barbers because it is a much easier look to maintain at home.

So many, in fact, that Esquire recently published an article on the different (simpler) types of looks people could create with clippers at home. I'm including the link to the article here.

When I was 17, I had a full head of long hair. In fact, my bangs used to come down past my chin (don't judge me, different times). I knew I would go bald eventually. Almost all the men in my family on both sides were bald and I just knew. My long hair may have been a "enjoy it while you can" attempt.

In any event, I found myself so obsessed with my hair that I decided to cut it off. I went to the salon and asked the lady to buzz cut the entire thing off. She asked more than once, "are you sure you want to do this?"

She began with the top and for a brief moment I saw in the mirror what I would look like when rocking the male pattern baldness in the future. I, honestly, thought it didn't look bad. I maintained a buzzed look or shaved head from there on out.

It's easy, looks good and doesn't require a lot of thought.
